And I can only learn from what once made me sad

By making a promise to myself

That if I should ever have a child

She will never feel lost, she will always belong

And she will know love

Hello and welcome to my secret poetry site! This is a private website that only a few lucky people have the privilege of seeing. The reason for the cloak and dagger is because my writing is honest and personal. I am conscious that it may reveal a lot about me that I may not be comfortable sharing under normal circumstances. Nonetheless, I love writing poetry and a part of me does want to share them.

So. A little about me and my relationship with poetry. I have always enjoyed creative writing from as far back as I can remember. However, it was only a few years ago that I made the push to write and perform poems regularly at poetry events.

The themes are often around my own personal experiences, occasionally branching into social issues. As someone who suffers from depression and anxiety, it can sometimes be hard for me to organise my thoughts and emotions and articulate what I really feel and mean. Writing poetry helps alleviate that as it gives me the time to understand and clarify things in a creative way, which is often a cathartic experience.

I am always interested in meeting other creative beings whether it is to collaborate, answer a query or just have a chat over a cup of tea. If you would like to get in touch, please email me at: tammana@live.co.uk
